December flew by as usual. We loved every minute of it - the anticipation of the day Santa would bring all the toys, the cookies, the gingerbread houses, and caroling, and Christmas Eve Nativity. I have a ton of pictures to share and show it all. But first lets talk about this little man. In December he was 11 months old and just as cute as ever.
He is eating food like a champ. He will eat anything out of those sucky food pouches. And he sucks them down in less than a minute. Wish those were around when the others were little they are just so convenient. In this picture you can see he has 4 upper teeth.
It is fun to watch him put the world together and copy what he sees everyone else doing. When he finds pencils he tries to write with them. so cute. Here he's scribbling on a little drawing Jack had.
Luke broke/spraned his finger playing basketball outside. He wore a splint for a few weeks until it felt better.
I had fun trying to figure out how to decorate the new house for Christmas. I had a lot of big plans that never happened. Maybe next year.
We like to do crafts here and a Santa Minion shirt was requested by Luke for a pajama shirt so we got our crafting supplies and painted. This photo is taken in our upstairs bonus room which Jack and Luke share. It has a big table that's perfect for projects like this.
As you know Mer did swim team last fall. December brought her Swim Award banquet in which she got her second HS Letter, earned by qualifying and competing in the District swim meet.
The kids had the week before Christmas off from school. This is what vacation looked like here, sleeping in well after the sun was up. It was so nice.
I snapped this pic as a record that all the big kids were working together to wash the floor Luke's is in the back and Max is on the other side of the house. Seeing all my kids working hard brings me such joy. Mostly likely they were blasting music by the Strokes because that is how they roll.
Vacation also brought breakfasts that turned into brunch and a lot of game playing. They love playing Monopoly deal. Max almost always wins. He's ruthless.
Here's Doug teaching Tommy how to play Christmas hymns. You can almost always cheer Thomas up by sitting him at the piano
We decorated Gingerbread houses with Sam and Peter. These kids love doing this stuff.
We had a competition for the best decorated I think max won with his perfect rainbow roof. He's the expert at anything candy related. He makes sure he has a healthy sized serving of it every day.
The kids begged and begged to sleep in mer's room together the night before Christmas. We decided no because they were too close to the tree. They were pretty bummed and consented to all sleep upstairs in the bonus room.
We also took some family pictures. The lighting was very low so they didn't turn out the best.
Next up Christmas Eve.!!
