A Quiet Weekend

I love a good quiet weekend.  A 3 day weekend at that!  No commitments. Heaven!  We were invited to go boating with some friends on Saturday and we actually could say yes!! It was SUPER fun.

We boated in a canal. I'm sure it had alligators in it.  Thankfully we saw none.  The water was warm and every time they stopped the boat the kids jumped off the sides to swim.

We went tubing and wake boarding.

Sunday we went for a walk over the causeway and to visit the "jungle gym". It's a little place by the river that has fun tree branches to crawl through.  It's Luke's new favorite place to go right now. We've been there 4 times in the last 2 weeks.

Of course there are always treasures to be found.

The kids sure are enjoying their school-free freedom

They are finding all kinds of mischief to get into. I found these pictures on my phone.

Apparently they were performing surgery on Luke.  Creepy!

My neighbor was "giving" away a huge painting.  I snagged it for a little art project and Jack has been color blocking it for me.

He is our current little crafty artist.

This girl turns 13 tomorrow.. THIRTEEN!

She had the opportunity to take Horseback riding lessons last month.  They ended last week when her teacher left on her mission.  We'll miss you Gina!

Must rest now!  I've got to get my beauty sleep. :)

The graduate!

Today is the last day of school and I have much to say but for now I just have to document a very special occasion that happened last Thursday.

My littlest man graduated from preschool!
He took it very seriously.

He gave is teacher one BIG hug!

They sang cute songs.

And then it was party time in his classroom.

He went to the BEST Preschool.  All of my kids have gone there. I will miss those fabulous teachers and staff.  He was a little bit of a bittersweet day.  Followed by a special lunch of course.

I sure will miss this little sidekick next year!!

At least I'll have him by my side for the summer, along with the rest of them.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's day was full of sweet messages...
Luke and Jack sneaked into my room early in the morning and left me this.

beautiful flowers...

Delicious breakfast in bed...

And a delicious dinner prepared by one great husband and these cute kids.

Saturday was the last day of Soccer for the Jack and Luke.  Max has one more week and Mer has a couple weeks left.  The day was filled with games, parties, and Medal ceremonies.  Here's my team.  I had a lot of fun coaching.

Luke is already asking when the next time he gets to play soccer is.  He's really quite good.

School is over in a week and a half.  I'm excited that things are going to start to slow down over here. We will be busy in other ways.  This will be a busy week with all the end of school festivities.  I'll try to keep you posted a little more often.

Happy Mother's day to all you awesome mothers reading this!
Good night!

A Much Needed Update

Hello!
I am sitting here, with my legs up, enjoying a quiet minute, at the end of a busy day, and finally updating the blog.  We have had a fun month and I thought I'd share the highlights.  I'll start with the prettiest picture I have to show.  Mer went to a school dance Spring Fling on Friday night.  She looked like a celebrity in her flashy dress.  She decided to go at the last minute and ended up borrowing it from a friend who also did her makeup for her.

This cute dress was her back up plan.

Mer came home, slept a few hours and woke up for an 8 am soccer game this morning.   It is a tournament weekend for her. They lost the first game and won the second.  The rest of the kids had no games this weekend. Next weekend is the last game day of the season. We almost made it! What will we do with all our free time when it's over?

The elementary kids also had Spring Fest at school today where Luke learned to Hula Hoop. So cute!

I celebrated my birthday a couple of weeks ago!  38 baby! Oy that sounds old.  Tobin flew out to celebrate it with me.  Little did I know that Rachel was planning on coming too.  She flew in the day before Tob and surprised me by Skyping me from the Melbourne Airport.  What a treat! Best surprise ever! I screamed and cried and  drove to pick her up. What fun.

Tob and Rachel jumped in with our busy schedule and we had a great time hanging out together. I wish I had taken more pictures.
Tob's brithday is just a few days before mine so we celebrated his too on the night he flew in.

Here we are on my birthday morning.

We let the kids stay home from school and all went on an adventure to Sebastian Inlet State Park. Our good friends let us borrow some kayaks to use in the open water area.

So fun.  I love a good outdoor adventure.

We came home went to soccer practices and then celebrated with cake, from Publix of course.

Everyone except Mer had games the next day. It was fun to have some extra spectators with us

And especially nice to have extra hands on Sunday Morning to help us get out the door on time.

Rachel was a very good sport to let Mer practice curling her hair.

Then Tob had to leave and Rachel and I spent her last day here sewing.

I'm so sad they are gone now.

In other news. Luke has convinced himself that he likes bananas, which he has spit out of his mouth everytime he has ever tried them since he was 6 mo old.

He swears likes them and that he will soon eat the whole thing. He has tried twice to eat a whole banana.  The first time he took one bite and chewed it in disgust and then said he likes it but he doesn't want anymore.  The next attempt he took three bites which were the equivalent of one and said he was done, stating that he almost ate the whole thing. This kid keeps me laughing! I can't believe he'll be in kindergarten in a few months.

Over and out!
