Had to Blog it!

I think Luke thinks he just met his namesake today! Jack and Luke had requested a movie, Jack wanted StarWars and Luke wanted an "airplane show". I told Luke Starwars had airplanes in it and he was happy.  As I was finishing off these tresses for a party I'm going to tonight with Doug, Luke came running into me saying with a big smile "Luke Skywalker, Mom, Luke Skywalker"

And here they are posing for a picture I'm taking at their request. They are standing on a runway they made out of signs Doug brought home from work for them to play with and destroy.  I think the event of the day was skim boarding and ice skating on them.

Pictures from the week.

Days are busy now that school has started. Mer's Soccer has started up again and Max is trying out Tai Kwon Do. He has learned to count to 10 in Korean and can show you some pretty sweet kicks.  I'll work on getting some footage.  We've been so busy that the only time I think to pick up my camera is the daytime when we have a little down time before the big kids come home from school.  Here are a few shots to share, pitiful though they may be.

Last week we experienced some serious heat around here so Jack and Luke cooled of in the little pool. The game was "run as fast as you can and jump into the pool"

This is a good one of one of Jack's runs

These two guys are inseparable when Jack is home from preschool. I love how well they play together it is just so cute to watch and listen to their little conversations, now that Luke is speaking a little more.

Jack also loves to "do his hair" and Luke's too.

We recently received a hand me down bike trailer. So exciting!!! Here are the boys on the maiden voyage around the neighborhood.  I hate to admit it but my legs were sore from just riding 2 miles.  It looks like I need to do a little cross-training.

And finally, here is Max's fish he caught at scouts last week. They made their own fishing poles out of soda cans and went fishing in the nearest canal. Max just started scouts last month and LOVES it.

Hope you all had a great week too.

Time for School

School started Monday for Mer and Max, and Jack started Preschool Yesterday.
I love this picture. Can they just stay this way forever??

My camera battery charger is lost, so Doug graciously let me borrow his phone to take pictures of Jack's first day.  Here he is the night before modeling his new Ben 10 backpack, that thankfully arrived to our doorstep that day.
Of course Looloo had to model his backpack too.

Wednesday morning we took him to class, he was excited and a little bit nervous.

This is where he sits.
Luke, who took his backpack in with him, lined right up with the rest of the kids to get their playdough. I got  a little teary eyed when I explained to him that we had to go and leave Jack here at preschool.  Luke looked a little confused and didn't throw a fit or anything but I was just sad for him that his big brother wasn't going to be his constant partner in crime anymore.  When I picked him up his teacher said he was such good kid and a great leader.
Mer and Max both like their teachers. Max says 3rd grade is hard. He is also doing Tae Kwon Do and scouts, so he will be busy for a little while. Mer starts soccer soon...and that's that.
We're off to a good start.

Summer comes to an end.

Hello again... finally. Our hard drive crashed a week ago and I haven't been able to post anything since then. Doug was out of town last weekend living it up in Atlanta, and so we filled up our days with fun at the beach, swimming pool, and the zoo. Unfortunately the only picture to show from our adventures was this one.

We went out to dinner at Jason's Deli. Some of us had never been there and we just had to go try out the all you can eat soft serve.  I don't remember the last time I took the kids out to dinner just by myself. It could have been crazy but they were all so well behaved (PHEW!)

Here are some fun sprinkler shots that were taken a few days ago.

**Fish Update: they are all dead!**

Luke often says with a forlorn face, "My fishy dead...flush, mom, flush"
Yes that's right Luke your fishy died and we flushed him down the toilet.  Not sure if we'll be getting more fish.

On a happier note. Luke has announced "It's my Happy Birthday" upon waking every morning this week.  It usually results in Max saying "Yes Luke, Happy Birthday, lets go find you a present." As a present one morning I presented Luke with a new Potty seat, since he has expressed interest in wearing "big boy Underwear".  I'm not really planning on potty training yet, just introducing the idea a bit  to see if it will take.

And now for another sad note. Today was officially the last day of freedom.
School starts tomorrow for Max and Mer. Sigh!! Life is about to get crazy once again.
Last year they said I sent them on a scavenger hunt to find their clothes on the first day of school.  They thought it was so fun that they want one again this year. Their wish is my command, so I'm off to get that ready.  Good night.!!

P.S.  Oh, and we heard from Grandma Bev tonight.  She is doing so much better. We were so worried about you Grandma, and are glad you are gaining strength and doing well. We Love You!!!
