Let the Halloween Celebration begin

The chill is in the air! While it doesn't look like Fall here it finally feels a little bit like it (Hi 69/Lo 47). Last night we officially started the Halloween extravaganza. Making sugar cookies and carving pumpkins all in one day. After School and after homework the kids rolled and cut and rolled and cut and finished baking all the cookies.I made a quick dinner of Tacos. Doug came home and ate with the kids while I went on a quick run. Then the pumpkin carving began. Everybody drew their faces and then frosted their cookies while they were waiting for us to cut them out. Doug even made everyone hot chocolate.
Mer made a "Dracula" one
Max's was a "scary" face
Jack kept changing his mind saying "mine is scary! Oh, now it's happy, now it's scary!"
Doug did the other one.
We finally got to light them after everyone was jammied. They all turned out quite nicely.
Now we're ready for a Happy Halloween night. (well, almost! I still have costume stuff to do...Max's literacy day parade is tomorrow and he's being a zulu warrior. I have to make a feathered head dress, not sure how that's going to turn out.)
