Mer's Dance Party

So I am recording this almost a month after the party but it was such a success that I would hate to forget how it all went down.. First let me just say that Meredith has the nicest group of girlfriends. I am so thankful for that.

We started off the evening with a little "moves" tutorial by Max.  He showed off all his moves and then the kids took turns imitating them... this one is the lawn mower.  Max also does the can- opener, the shopping cart, the sprinkler, and one special un-named move his dad invented.  Ask him to show them to you sometime.  It's a great show.

After that we did some group dancing where each person got to lead choose the moves and everyone had to follow them.  There was also a dance-off where 2 people took turns showing their best moves and the crowd had to cheer for a winner.

Then, collectively, the group decided they would split up and do a boys vs. girls dance routine.  They each took about 30 minutes to decide a song and choreograph their moves.  There were three kids that did not want to participate in the competition so they were the judges.

The boys won.  They were awesome!

Dinner followed.  Pizza, chips and fruit kabobs with chocolate covered strawberries.  One of Mer's friends came over early and they worked together to pull off this masterpiece.

Double chocolate cake with kisses and curly candles.

Another fun part of the party was the glow bracelets.  We got a ton of them from the dollar store and the kids had the best time messing around with them.

All in all it was a success.  There were at least 3 people who were planning on just watching the whole time, but in the end we had them all dancing. Good memories.
