Vacation Update

We had a ton of fun on our trip to Georgia. I have lots of pictures to post but they are stuck on my laptop which is now in Florida.  Wednesday the kids and I flew to Colorado.  We have been playing with cousins and loving it.  Here are a bunch of pictures from the last couple of days.

Wednesday
Dad picked us up from the airport after a very easy flight except for a bit of serious turbulence that pulled us off our seats and had everything flying off our laps.  Flying from GA is so much faster than flying from FL.  We stopped at Good Times and had some frozen custard.  Delish!

I came home to a beautiful yard.  Want to see what my parents (especially dad) pour their energy into?  The vegetable garden.

And flowers are everywhere.

Thursday
The kids made bug gardens.  This was a fun activity. They poured sand in a box and spent the morning gathering things from the yard to sculpt their gardens.

That afternoon we went swimming.

Friday
We did some shopping in the morning.  The money they had earned in GA was burning a hole in their pockets.  Jack bought himself a watch. We spent the evening at an art festival where the kids had their faces/arms painted.

Grandma and Rachel were selling their jewelry at the fair and we went to their booth to visit them.

And to show off our paintings.

Saturday
This morning I took the kids to the greatest toy shop, Grand Rabbits.  It is full of the most amazing toys. Luke bought more marble, and a glow in the dark planet set.  We also went to Pearl Street to get our traditional Pizza Calore "green Pizza"  We stopped at another toy store, Into the Wind, and Mer found a toy she has been searching for for years.  I will try to take a picture since I don't know what it's called.   Max bought a pretty sweet gun from Walmart.  Jer and Heidi's family and Tobin came into town this evening. Now everyone's here (well except Doug).  Let the festivities begin!.

Wavey's Party

Dear Grandma Bev,

We are so sad that you weren't able to be here with us this weekend.  We were really looking forward to seeing you.  I thought I'd give you a little update on our adventures so you could feel like you were with us just a little. We have been having a great time hanging out at Grandpa Val's house.
We arrived late Thursday night and hit the sack so we would have enough energy for our trip to White Water the next day.  After a long day at the Water park we came home to meet Grace and George, Henry and Liz.

On Saturday we drove over to Mikes house to celebrate Wavey's 3rd birthday.

We took lots of pictures so you could see what it was like.

No No is getting so big.  Mike is having a lot of fun styling his hair

The kids all wrestled Mike on the trampoline.  There was a lot of screaming involved.

Wavey's hair is getting so curly, just like Grace's.

She is such a talker, she walked around having little conversations with everyone.

She opened presents which all turned out to be pink and princess-ed.

She promptly tried everything on.

It was a very fun party!

Today we went to church.  We stayed for Grandpa's Spanish branch sacrament meeting.  Our family performed a song for the intermediate hymn.  We sang "Love is Spoken Here."  Now everyone is off to take a look at the new house Mike is buying somewhere in town and the kids are watching a show.

We hope you are feeling better. I will try to take a few more pictures of all the cousins tonight.  We love you and miss you.
Love,
the Markos clan.

Happy Birthday to Max!!

Max turned 10 today! We celebrated by packing the car, cleaning the house, and driving to GA.

Just kidding. Max's birthday was a little foiled last year and this year we ended up having to travel on his birthday again, so we officially celebrated it yesterday.

We pretended it was his birthday all day. At our house that means a presents, a fancy breakfast, and no chores all day for the birthday boy. He opened all his presents first thing in the morning before Doug went to work.

Here are some of the action shots, a pocket knife...

Clothes, lego, minecraft, a nerf shotgun to add to his ever increasing arsenal.

and for the grand finale a RC Helicopter

We spent a very low key day playing and relaxing and listening to endless Harry Potter on CD. It was the perfect day and just what he wanted.
Happy Birthday Max! We love you!
