Post Easter Egg Hunt at the neighborhood park. Mer felt she was too big to participate, which reminded me that she will be turning 12 soon. Sad to see her childhood ending.
Max and Luke both found prize eggs that earned them a chocolate bunny.
We did get to dye some Easter Eggs.
The Easter bunny left the house wrapped in yarn and the kids had to roll up the string to find their baskets this year.
"Is it just me or is my yarn the longest??" said Max as he rolled up his string.
Luke even crawled under the chair to follow his string.
With Easter over Meredith's infected toe roller coaster began. This is how the week went...
Monday: Early morning Dentist appointments for all to get their teeth cleaned. Monday night a part of Mer's incision became infected red, swollen, and super painful.
Tuesday: Early morning Ortho appointment for Mer. Took the rest of the kids to school then took Mer to see her podiatrist. He lanced it open gave us antibiotics and sent us on our way.
Thursday: Early morning follow up appointment to the podiatrist...Toe was looking good. Doug's parents came into town that night in preparation for a race across Florida and they brought Stella for us to play with. They got to see Max and Jack play soccer at practice.
That night Mer's foot became infected in a new place along her incision.
Friday: I took Mer back to the doctor to look at her foot. He did an ultrasound and made arrangements to have Mer check into the hospital to receive IV antibiotics and possibly cut open her incision again. We went home for a little while to pack...and cry. Doug and his dad gave her a blessing and then Mer and I were off to the hospital until further notice.
Saturday: Val biked across Florida coast to coast. Blanche drove the support vehicle so she left Stella with Doug and the boys. Jack and Max had soccer games where Max played his most exciting game yet. After blood tests, xrays, and an MRI it was decided that Mer's incision did not have to be cut open.
Sunday: Mer and I came home around 11:00. We spent the rest of the day hanging out and playing with Stella. We also drove to see the beach.
Not quite the weekend we had planned but I am thankful Mer didn't have to have the incision cut open and that it all happened over the weekend where we had time to deal with it all.
This week was back to normal thankfully.
Thursday it was my turn to be the Birthday Girl. 37! Oooh that sounds old. So I'm another year older and another year wiser I guess.
They sung happy birthday in full opera voices. It was hilarious!
And that's a wrap! I'm all caught up. Well, except for the description of the pictures of the last post. But I'll save that for another day.
over and out!

Love the yarn idea for finding Easter baskets.
So glad Mer is better and didn't have to have her toe reopened!
Can't believe Stella came for a visit. :)
Looks like you had a happy birthday. The cake looks delicious.
