Feeling Lucky!

So today was a great day and I am feeling lucky.
Last night was Open House at school and with it a gift basket fundraiser. I bought six raffle tickets and let Max, Mer, and Jack each choose which baskets to enter for the drawing. We must be lucky because we actually won. Our basket was "Christmas in August" for a boy. I think that actually Jack and Max both put a ticket in for that one. We picked it up this morning and they were all in heaven opening everything up after school. Inside we found a fox and iguana Webkinz, 2 lego sets, a remote control kit, a nerf dart gun with extra bullets, Connect Four, and a super soaker water gun. Meredith was extremely bummed that we didn't win the Hannah Montana movie basket, but her one request was that she could put one of the lego sets together all by herself. I should have taken a picture of the "Christmas mess" we had going on over here after they had opened everything.
After we dropped the kids off at school this morning we headed up to my friend Kristin's house and she watched the little boys and I actually got to go shopping alone for the morning. I browsed Ross and a couple other stores and found a few things I just had to have. Okay, I seriously need to do that more often. When I got back, we all went for a swim in her pool. How lucky I am to have such a great friend. Thank you Kristin, next week it's your turn. My luck was holding out because as I pulled up both my little boys were sound asleep. I couldn't help but think "this is the greatest day ever". See how easy I am to please? Jack did only sleep for about 30 min, but hey a few moments of quiet is enough. I hope this good luck continues!

Here are a few show offs. Last weekend, I spent some of my hard earned purse money and bought curtains to replace our vertical blinds in the kitchen. This was a little bit of a tough purchase for me because I am always plagued with the thought that I could make them for sooo much cheaper. I put them up a couple of days ago I love them. How did I not do this sooner? because I always thought I could make them for sooo much cheaper. Good bye disgusting blinds, I will not miss you!

They look so pretty I'm thinking I need to work on the view (do something with my back porch) and redo the valences that are still there from the previous owner. I'm working on this little project at my friend Ronnie's request. It soon will have a matching little pair of jammie pants like these.
