Our Christmas Pictures

Now that it's officially 2009...here are some pictures of our Christmas morning. The kids woke up around 7:00 and sneaked a peek at the Christmas tree before coming to get us. While the kids waited for Doug and I to be ready they found the empty wrapping paper rolls and passed the time sword fighting. We lined them all up littlest to biggest... and then let them have at it.

Santa brought bean bags, scooters, a guitar, and cereal, and filled the stockings with lots of goodies. Luke loved climbing the mountain of presents and banging on all of them. Of course the big kids loved opening all his present in addition to their own.

Here's Mer with her new hot pink ipod and the canopy bed I made for her big girl dolls

Here are the boys with their new snakes.

I think it took us 1 1/2 hours to open all the presents. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful gifts. We spent the next couple of days playing and playing with new toys, lego, games, books, etc. , watching lots of movies, and seeing Mer's fashion show of new clothes.

We had a great relaxing Christmas. One of the most exciting presents we got for the whole family.... the day after Christmas we bought a "new" van. A 2007 Toyota Sienna. This has been along time coming, as we've watched our other one fall apart and had to fix way too much on it. I am really enjoying it as it's the newest car we've ever owned, I feel quite spoiled.

Here are a couple of shots from New Year's Eve. We ate Jello cake for dessert and went on a walk looking for the fireworks we could hear going off in the distance. The funniest thing was what everyone was wearing as we trapsed through the neighborhood with no shame. Jack in his one piece jammies and boots, Max shoeless in his new bathrobe (did we really let him go shoeless?) an Mer in jammies, jacket and black sparkly shoes. Jack was the winner, he and his freshly buzzed hair-do.

Oh yeah, we buzzed his hair for the first time. He wanted to be "bald" he said. When I was done cutting it he looked in the mirror with dissatisfaction and said "Mom I wanted it to be bald!" "Yeah" I said,"I buzzed it just like Dad's."
"But I wanted to have NO HAIR!!"
Sorry kid I'm not cutting it that short.
I think he looks so cute!
Max wanted me to do it half and half at first

Looks like fun! I can't believe how cute that canopy bed turned out. You are so talented! Can't wait to see Jack's hair. It has probably grown a bit by now, though.

What a fun-looking Christmas! I loved looking at all the pictures.

Jack is too funny, what a character!

Congratulations on your new van, also. I know I would certainly be spoiled with anything from this decade! :)
