The End of an Era

Doug finally gave in to his baldness and buzzed his head tonight. It is an end of an era. He asked the kids to do it for him and told them to put on clothes that could get hairy. I thought it ironic that Mer put on her big shirt with Doug's high school picture on it. A picture of Doug with a beautiful, lustrous, thick head of hair. The one that says "Sorry guys she's taken" that Micah and Laurel so lovingly made for me in college.

The kids had fun cutting Dad's hair. Even Jack took a few swipes.

What do you think?? Nice huh? I love it.

Jake and Sydney loved seeing this and are jealous. They think that would be fun to shave Mike's head. Looks good.

I think that it looks great! It was awesome that he let the kids help. I'm scared to help cut his hair, and I actually did mess it up one time and he had to shave his head!

Jesse chuckled and said, "Finally succumbed, huh?"

Doug, you made it longer than Jesse did. ;)

But seriously, it suits him just great. I was sad to see Jesse's longer hair go, too, but when it starts getting so thin on top, there's not much you can do. Or at least, I've never heard of another hairstyle option.

Fun that the kids got to help! Looks like they really enjoyed that.

He certainly looks younger! People often wonder why Ben keeps his hair so long...it is b/c his hairline looks like a fork in the road! But he has plenty the rest of the way around so he just covers it up. :) And we think we have problems. LOL

Oh, I'm so glad the shirt is around! That was a fun year and Doug looks great. Tom succombed about a year ago, and just buzzes. He said he wasn't fooling anyone with longer hair.

i'm impressed. he held onto his follicles a good 10 years longer than my Doug. we did this after we got pictures back from my sister's wedding in 2001 and realized he was hanging onto something that wasn't working for him!

we referred to the cut as "embracing the baldness." 'cause what else can you do?? ;)

love the tshirt. too funny.
