Re-break

Hello! What a week. We were smooth sailing until Jack broke his arm AGAIN! Wednesday morning he and Tommy were playing superheroes and they had dropped their capes on the ground. Jack came around the corner quickly and slipped on the cape and went down hard on his shoulder.  I thought it was maybe just dislocated but a trip to the ER confirmed a break in his upper arm. We went to the Dr today for a follow up and got a good x-ray of it.

The treatment is just to wear a sling so he'll have to do that for the next few weeks or so. Thankfully no cast and no surgery. We just have to keep him from falling. JUST!

We are looking for a new car to buy since ours is about to turn over 200,000 miles. This weekend we found ourselves at a Ford dealership with a nice line up of mustangs. Luke loved it. He and Jack play a game while we drive around seeing who can spot the most Mustangs. It sounds like this.
Luke: MUSTANG!
Jack: I already called that one.

Mer went to Home coming at Lake Placid HS. It is 2 hrs South. She went with some friends that she know from our stake. She drove down, stayed the night with a friend and drove herself home the next morning.

And Luke worked on some Cubscout requirement this weekend. He planned and cooked a meal over a fire that he started himself. He made tinfoil pizza rollups and popcorn. He was pretty proud of himself. It was fun to see him so excited about his success.

And... Max had a couple Soccer games in orlando on Saturday. He played really well and had 2 shots on goal. I tried really hard to get some videos but this was the only one worth sharing. Hes the one wearing white with the ball.

And lastly I'll leave you with a few cute pictures of Tommy in his new Batman Cape

I wrote a tutorial for the cape a couple weeks ago for the Fabric.com blog. It's a remake of one that we had for dress up for the other boys. Now Tom wants to be Batman for Halloween. We'll see if that sticks.

Bye for now!

Tampa Trip and Jacks Broken Arm is not so broken anymore

It continued to rain all week last week. It has been constant which is VERY unusual here in FL. We get a lot of rain but it usually comes in short down pours. Tommy loves playing with his friends so we try to get together with them a few times a week. Our friends the Willwerth's just moved back in town and they have a little one a year older than Tom.

Here is Tom and his BFF who recently had a new baby added to his house so they have been playing together often.

On Tuesday. (A week ago) we went to the Dr to get Jack's pins taken out of his wrist. The bone is healing nicely and the Dr tells us it should straighten out fully as he continues to grow.

For comparison here is a picture of how it looked 6 weeks ago.

And since I never blogged the story here are a few more pictures from when Jack broke his arm. Jack was playing soccer at school, he was running full speed and then turned to run backward to get a ball from someone and tripped and fell backward putting his hand out to catch himself. They couldn't get a hold of me for a while so they almost had to take him to the hospital by ambulance

It was a pretty nasty break that went through both bones. In the ER they pulled on it a little to realign it so they could put a good splint on it and then they made him stay the night in the hospital before doing surgery on it the next day.

The surgery went well and we came home a couple hours afterward. Jack was an amazing trooper through it all.

Now the pins are out and he just has a removable brace that he will have to wear for the next 4 weeks at the least. The doctor is letting him run on Jog Squad so he is super happy about that. The only active thing he has been able to do lately is throw a frisbee in the front yard with Luke. (They do it EVERYDAY and are getting really good at fishing the frisbee off the roof with the extendable pool broom)
Tommy wanted me to take this picture of his Dinosaur holding his Balloon from Publix.

And finally, we spent most of the weekend in Tampa so Max could play in a soccer tournament. We recently let him join a Comp soccer team and this was the 2nd real weekend of Game play. They won the first and lost the last 2.

The games were in the evening so we found some things to do in Tampa including visiting the Alessi Bakery for some delicious lunch and treats.

There was a cool park by the small Tampa airport control tower. We played and watch a ton of planes take off and land. Luke loved the Hummer Limo that is parked behind him in the picture below.

We also walked around the grounds of the Salvador Dali museum to pose with the big mustache and walk through the hedge maze.

And took a quick dip in the hotel pool before heading to the last game.

All in all it was just fun to not be home on a Saturday doing all the house chores or cleaning up after a hurricane.

Bye for now

Gen Con

It was General Conference this weekend. Gen Con as Doug likes to say. I love listening to General Conference. I crocheted a little stuffed animal for this Refugee toy donation that I'm contributing to. This is going to be a lion.

We went out and bought Jack his white shirt and he got to go to his first preisthood session. He and mas are trying to make themselves as tall as possible here.

Doug had enough.

We also made a delicious Carrot cake. It was the cake my mom had at her birthday party this week and I just had to try it. YUM!

Over and out!
